Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will support the lead teacher and/or fill in when needed in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for children. This role involves working closely with children ages 6 weeks - 5 years old assisting in the development and implementation of engaging curriculum activities that promote childhood development and learning.
Duties
- Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
- Support children's learning by educating them through play, structured activities, and hands-on experiences.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all students.
- Monitor and document children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones.
- Engage with parents and caregivers to provide updates on their child's progress and address any concerns.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom that promotes exploration and creativity.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to education and care.
Requirements
- Experience working with children in childcare or educational settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices is essential.
- Familiarity with curriculum development techniques.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and staff members.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for educating young learners are crucial for this role.
- High School Diploma required/ Child Development Associate preferred
- FBI/BCI background check
- Meets all mandated health requirements/ clear physical exam
- ODJFS licensing knowledge preferred
