Engineering Drafter

Clover Leaf is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Engineering Drafter to support the Propulsion Plant Team Trainer (PPTT) project at Bettis, PA. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the design and production of advanced naval training simulators for the U.S. Navy’s submarine and aircraft carrier fleet.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Collaborate with engineers to create and modify designs using SolidWorks and drawings in eDrawings, PDF, and other formats.
• Provide input on manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Assist in material selection to ensure performance, durability, and cost-effectiveness of components.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Associate’s degree in mechanical design, drafting, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a mechanical drafter or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical design creation and modification.
• Expertise in drafting standards, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and tolerance stack analysis.
• Strong knowledge of design for value engineering and manufacturing techniques.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Eligibility for government clearance, including US Citizenship.

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Experience in electrical design and drafting.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes including additive manufacturing technologies (plastics and metals).
• Knowledge of sheet metal forming techniques and the relationship between tolerances and manufacturing costs.
• Understanding of machining practices and how tolerances influence manufacturing costs.
