- Shift - 1 : 30pm - 10 : 00pm
- Maintain building security.
- Empty trash cans and change trash can liners.
- Clean chalkboards and chalk trays.
- Clean restrooms and classrooms.
- Dust and spot mop tiled floor areas.
- Clean furniture.
- Vacuum and spot clean carpeted areas.
- Bonnet and extract carpets using approved methods.
- Clean sinks.
- Clean windows.
- Fill all types of dispensers and empty pencil sharpeners.
- Straighten student desks.
- Dust high and low.
- Change light bulbs - only when more than one custodian is present.
- Clean drinking fountains.
- Change air filters.
- Perform minor repairs t building and equipment.
- Wash walls.
- Prep, clean, and apply finish to tile floors, as needed.
- Sweep stairwells, entryways, and thresholds.
- Repair classroom furniture and minor plumbing.
- Clean middle school and high school shower rooms.
- Clean, apply finish, and maintain wooden floors, as needed.
- Assist in maintaining grounds area.
- Assist in ordering supplies.
- Assemble and disassemble equipment for special events in the building.
- Clean pool and pool area at the high school, if assigned.
- Respond to emergencies after duty hours, as needed.
- Clean all custodial equipment at end of shift.
- Perform duties related to housekeeping.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Must successfully complete both basic and advanced custodial courses within the first year of employment.
- Successful completion of fingerprint and background check.
- Valid Washington State driver's license and proof of automobile insurance.
- Ability to effectively work independently, as well as cooperatively within a team environment.
- Ability to receive and positively act upon constructive criticism.
- Knowledge of basic housekeeping fundamentals.
- Ability to proficiently speak, write, and understand English.
- Ability to effectively implement written and oral instructions from supervisor and / or principal.
- Ability to cohesively and respectfully interact with students, staff, parents, administrators, and patrons within a diverse environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds to chest height from floor level, as well as perform pushing, pushing, and lifting activities required to move equipment.
- Ability to work flexible hour or shift changes as necessary to provide services for school functions.
- Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Three (3) years experience in commercial housekeeping.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and / or carpentry repair.
- Completion of the District's basic and advanced custodial courses.
- Internal candidates may be placed on a longevity step per corresponding collective bargaining agreement.

SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the general direction of the Chief Custodian, Assistant Chief (if applicable), and principal, maintain district cleaning standards to ensure a clean, sanitary, comfortable, and safe building environment.

Also, performance of more difficult and responsible tasks may be required to aid in the development of the employee for future advancement.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed both indoors and outdoors. Employee may be exposed to inclement weather, dust, fumes, dirt, bleach and other industrial cleaning chemicals, chalk, loud noises, heights, mechanical equipment, sharp objects, and infectious diseases. Physical exertion is required and employee may be required to stand for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to bend, squat, twist, walk, reach, climb, push / pull 60 pounds, lift and carry 50 pounds, and have ordinary skill and speed using fingers, hands, and limbs.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Employment with Clover Park School District is conditional pending completion of a Washington State Patrol and Federal Bureau of Investigation fingerprint background check as required by RCW28A.400.303. (NOTE : All associated background check fees are the employee's responsibility.) The fingerprint scan must be completed prior to the first day of employment.
