What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Crew position at Clover Park School District?
SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT
Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager and the Utility Crew Chief, this position supports district moving and delivery operations; provides light maintenance, housekeeping, and minor repairs to ensure clean, sanitary, comfortable and safe facilities and grounds; assists with special events and security; as well as executing several support assignments in the district. The Utility Crew is a team of four individuals that provide a variety of custodial, maintenance, and operations duties throughout the district as needed. The team consists of three Utility Crew members plus one Utility Crew Chief. This position is subject to Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) drug and alcohol testing as provided by District Policy #5259.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Support district moving operations within buildings and between building locations.
- Inspect vehicles used by utility crew to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Provide back-up for district courier and warehouse positions.
- Provide emergency response support during duty and after regularly scheduled hours.
- Provide light maintenance support (polishing, painting, and touch-up, tile replacement, etc.).
- Maintain building security.
- Operate Tenant machinery and maintain district parking lots, including paint striping the parking stalls.
- Perform all duties related to housekeeping such as cleaning restrooms, classrooms and windows, pool areas at senior high schools, and servicing equipment at the end of shift.
- Change light bulbs, ballasts and air filters.
- Strip and apply finish to hard surface floors.
- Perform minor building and equipment repairs.
- Clean and extract carpets using approved methods.
- Assist in maintaining the grounds areas. This includes pressure washing buildings, grounds, and parking lots and clearing the storm drains as needed.
- Maintain assigned district vehicles and operate in a safe and courteous manner.
- Maintain a safe driving record
- Operate and transport building and grounds equipment.
- Collect surplus equipment and deliver to auction. Deliver and pick-up science kits, WASL tests, and other items as needed. Assemble and disassemble equipment for special events at district facilities.
- Model appropriate and cooperative behavior, including protecting confidential information consistent with district ethical guidelines.
- Foster and maintain strong productive relationships with district employees, parents, students, and other community members. Work with a variety of people in a positive manner.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
And
- Must have successfully completed all required district custodial courses or complete within the first year of employment.
- One year of experience as a custodian or maintenance worker.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.30 - $32.14 per hour
