This has been designated as a bargaining unit position represented by Clover Park Federation of Classified Employees Local 4789.Duty: Follow and implement daily classroom routine based on Early Achievers, NAEYC, and Center Standards.
Tasks include:
- Support daily instruction and curriculum as led by the Lead teacher.
- Implement developmentally appropriate practice with children to support their social, emotional, physical, cognitive and individualized needs.
- Practice ongoing health and safety procedures for indoor and outdoor environment.
- Implement assigned and approved curriculum and teaching strategies to include: preparing documents on-line and parent conferences in absence of the Lead Teachers.
- Partner with the Lead Teacher in maintaining, rearranging, and assessing the classroom environment based on NAEYC, DCYF, and Center standards.
Tasks include:
- Build relationships through individualized communication style for each family through phone, email, and in-person conversations.
- Provide early learning services in a remote learning environment using platforms such as Teaching Strategies Gold, CANVAS, Zoom or MS Teams
- Address concerns/issues of children in partnership with families, Lead Teacher, and Center Director.
- Implement positive interactions and guidance techniques with children based on the classroom environment, family culture and circumstance.
- Track, document and file documents and paperwork on a weekly basis or as needed.
- Communicate with families using the college provided phone system and email address as well as the REMIND application to support text messaging to ensure personal contact information remains confidential
- Work collaboratively with Center team to facilitate a positive work environment.
- Model appropriate language and interaction between children and adults, and intervene to support when needed.
- Collaborate with the Lead Teacher, the Program Manager, and Center Director regarding student learning objectives, behavior and ongoing progress.
Tasks include:
- Attend staff meetings, training, and workshops to meet licensing, Early Achievers, Center and NAEYC standards.
- Participate in weekly classroom team meetings and curriculum planning.
- Maintain required certifications for licensing.
- Participate in CPTC campus meetings and trainings.
- Maintain all CPTC, DCYF and other required trainings.
- Other related duties as assigned to support Center operations, including assistance with covering lunches/breaks in various classrooms.
- High School Diploma
- CDA Credentials or Washington State Early Childhood Education (ECE) Initial Certificate, or Short Certificate of Specialization
- Minimum of one year of experience working with children at a licensed child care center.
- AA Degree in Early Childhood and Education
- Knowledge of Early Achievers
- Knowledge of NAEYC Standards

Clover Park Technical College is located in Lakewood, Washington.
