What are the responsibilities and job description for the Massage Therapy Faculty – Part-time Adjunct position at Clover Park Technical College?

The successful candidate will collaborate with other faculty in the Massage Therapy program and carry out functions related to the position as described below. The candidate will also collaborate with advising and other student services to best support student success and participate actively in our shared governance processes.

This position's duties are performed in person on our Lakewood campus.
This position is represented by the Clover Park Federation of Teachers, Local 3913, AFT/ AFT Washington. Duty: Provide classroom and clinic floor instruction utilizing a variety of teaching techniques to prepare students for licensure and entry-level employment

- Create, implement, and modify curriculum as required to meet learning outcomes.
- Maintain and manage classroom environment, equipment, tools and supplies.
- Create lesson plans, learning opportunities and instructional strategies for the course(s).
- Provide frequent and substantive feedback to students.
- Develop and complete student assessments.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of professionalism and mutual respect with students.
- Model professionalism and employability skills.
- Maintain accurate student and other records.
- Maintain a safe environment through instruction, policy and continuous evaluation of the learning, lab and realistic job training environment.
- Provide career guidance and job placement assistance.
- Assess and provide student learning feedback. ? Submit student reports, including vanishes, withdrawals, student grades and attendance in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned
Duty: Perform college support functions for the Massage program and the college
Tasks include:
- Provide office hours for student advising.
- Quarterly outcomes assessments.
- Promote the Massage program and the college.
- Provide and maintain program information/communication with the college community.
- Current Washington State Massage Therapist license (LMT).
- Minimum or three (3) years’ experience working as a Licensed Massage Therapist
- Experience with or willingness to gain experience with teaching and developing coursework online.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs, scheduling platforms, electronic SOAP charting and other appropriate instructional technologies.
- Ability to pass a Criminal History Background Check.
- The ability to contribute to the college’s commitment to diversity fostering a climate of multicultural understanding and appreciation.
- Previous teaching experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs, learning management systems (LMS) and other appropriate
- instructional technologies.
