Job Description
A "general maintenance technician" for Clover School District is responsible for performing routine repairs and upkeep on all CSD facilities’ systems, grounds, and equipment, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and structural maintenance, by identifying issues, troubleshooting problems, and making minor and major repairs while ensuring the facility remains safe, clean, and functional; tasks may include painting, drywall repair, replacing light bulbs, fixing minor plumbing leaks, carpentry, door and lock repairs, minor electrical repairs, mowing grass, weed eating, and performing preventative maintenance checks on various systems.
Key responsibilities of a general maintenance worker:
- Inspecting facilities: Regularly checking building systems, equipment, and fixtures for potential issues or signs of damage.
- Basic repairs: Performing minor repairs like fixing leaky faucets, replacing broken light switches, patching drywall, and repairing minor door and lock issues.
- Preventative maintenance: Conducting routine maintenance tasks like lubricating machinery, changing belts, checking and changing HVAC filters, and cleaning drains to prevent future breakdowns.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying the cause of malfunctions and attempting to resolve basic problems.
- Cleaning and upkeep: Maintaining cleanliness of common areas, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal if necessary.
- Ordering supplies: Requesting necessary parts and materials for repairs.
- Documentation: Keeping records of maintenance activities and repairs completed.
- Responding to work orders: Addressing maintenance requests from staff in a timely manner using CSD’s work order system.
Skills and qualifications for a general maintenance technician:
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely.
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Basic understanding of building blueprints and maintenance manuals.
- Physical ability to perform tasks like lifting, climbing, and bending.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work outdoors in the summer heat and the winter cold.
- Ability to work with other technicians.
- Ability to communicate with CSD staff members in a friendly, polite, and warm manner.

Terms of Employment:
5/5/2025 start date; 240 Days; Salary based on District Scale for Maintenance
