What are the responsibilities and job description for the Refrigeration Technician position at Cloverdale Foods?
We are currently accepting applications from individuals with experience ensuring stability and optimum performance within our cold storage areas of operation. The Ammonia Refrigeration Technician needs to safely operate the ammonia refrigeration system and related equipment in accordance with plant Process Safety Management (PSM) program, Risk Management Program (RMP), Corporate Safety policies and procedures. Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of utilities systems (Refrigeration, Boilers, Compressed Air, and Water Supply). This entails completing utilities maintenance and operation tasks / processes; meeting all safety concerns; contribution toward installation work as it pertains to utilities systems. Responsible for diagnosing system problems and adjusting, to keep the system operating correctly. The Ammonia Refrigeration Technician is also responsible for making equipment repairs as generated from work orders. we are focused on safety and preventative maintenance.
Duties:
- Perform Refrigeration Systems and Utility Systems (Boiler, Wastewater, compressed air, and hot water systems) established Preventative Maintenance and identify new PM activities, as needed.
- Inspect, monitor and maintain all refrigeration, air handling, and heating systems.
- Complete daily preventive maintenance and reports as tasks are completed.
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and local agencies, including OSHA and the EPA.
- Assist in development and implementation of Process Safety Manual (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) programs.
- Trouble shoot electrical problems.
- Perform Mechanical Integrity Inspections.
- Properly perform maintenance and isolation of equipment in accordance with written SOPs and maintenance procedures.
- Perform proper line break and purge procedures.
- Proper operation, PM and repair of other related equipment such as: boilers, air compressors, pumps, and ventilation systems.
- Must be able to initiate line breaking permits, initiate and implement Management of Change procedures, conduct pre-setup safety reviews, initiate hot work permits, audit and certify Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, and confined spaced procedures.
- Must be able to read Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
- Must be able to verify and certify standard operating and maintenance procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by Upper Management.
