What are the responsibilities and job description for the Warehouse Worker/Forklift Operator position at Cloverland Dairy?
Work Schedule:
- 2nd and 3rd Shift
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Receives, stages and selects finished dairy products according to daily customer needs.
- Take materials and items from production areas to storage or other designated areas.
- Sorts and stores finished dairy products according to size, type, and product code.
- Read picking tickets for route orders and accurately selects finished dairy products and places on conveyors to be loaded onto delivery trucks.
- Mark material with identifying information.
- Loads delivery trucks with finished dairy products according to customer needs.
- Must be capable to be trained in pallet jack and forklift operation.
- Works in Safety sensitive position and is required to follow all safety rules and procedures including but not limited to foot and hearing protection.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Required to work mandatory overtime when needed.
- May be required to assist in inventory of products.
- Responsible for housekeeping of work areas.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- Must be able to operate a Forklift (required)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal customers
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Should have shipping and receiving experience and must be capable of reading and understanding instructions, and have knowledge of basic math skills
- High school diploma or GED required
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50- 80 lbs.
- Wet and slippery floor conditions.
- Must be able to stand on feet during the entire shift.
- Extreme temperature condition of thirty eight degrees for entire shift
