Route Sales and Service Representative

Cloverland Distributing, LLC is seeking a Route Sales and Delivery Driver. This is a customer facing position with a high degree of freedom and regional travel (no overnights).

Cloverland Distributing, LLC is a family owned company for over 80 years and is a regional wholesale supplier of janitorial supplies, paper products, cleaning supplies, safety and foodservice supplies, and cleaning and maintenance equipment.

Job Overview:

A typical week in this role includes traveling to designated sales markets, meeting with current and potential new clients; selling products, supplies, and services; returning orders to the office, delivering customer orders while in market. Sales and delivery routes include Marquette, Iron Mountain, Newberry, Manistique, and more. As a result, experience and confidence driving in all seasons and weather conditions is required. Company vehicles are late model vans, well maintained, and properly equipped.

This position has exposure to hot and cold environments seasonally, as well as frequently moving, lifting, and carrying loads up to 50lbs, and occasionally up to 100lbs.

Excellent time management skills, personnel skills, and outgoing personality are required.

Sales Experience Preferred, but not required. Sales Training will be provided!

New, unworn company branded attire is provided. This includes embroidered golf shirts, a warm hooded shirt, hats, and a light jacket.

Job duties may include:

• Receiving, sorting, and stocking warehouse inbound deliveries and pulling, loading, and delivering outbound orders, as needed.
• Route Sales and Deliveries locally and regionally, no overnight travel
• Writing Sales Orders or customer requests for invoicing as needed
• Working with customers to develop additional sales opportunities
• Communicating with Sales office regarding customer issues or inquiries
• Meeting with clients to maintain current accounts
• Planning meetings and sales calls with prospective new customers
• Respond to customer sales requests, demonstrations, and documentation requests
• Develop an understanding of customers’ needs and requirements, and recommend products and solutions to assist their needs
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Product, sales, and customer experience training provided!

Job requirements:

• Valid Michigan driver’s license
• 18 years of age
• Reliable transportation to work
• Must be able to lift, push, move, and lower at least 50lbs frequently, up to 100 lbs occasionally
• Must be able to sit, stand, and drive for long periods of time
• Must have a clean driving record
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Must possess excellent Customer Service skills and a positive, team oriented attitude.

Job preferences:

• Prior Sales experience preferred
• Prior healthcare, restaurant, hospitality, maintenance, janitorial, or warehouse work experience preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Basic math skills
• Professional, friendly, outgoing attitudes are required
