Cloverleaf Local Schools is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 6th Grade Science Teacher to join our team. General Description: As a Classroom Teacher, your primary responsibility will be to guide and support students in developing a strong understanding of science, while fostering their intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. You will create and implement lesson plans, manage classroom activities, and evaluate students' learning experiences to ensure their academic success. This role requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about teaching and making a positive impact on student's educational journeys.
Qualifications:
- Appropriate State of Ohio Teaching Certification/Licensure for Middle School Science Grades 4-9.
- A sincere desire to aid all students in their academic and personal development.
- Demonstrated aptitude for successfully completing tasks and responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain accurate student records and become familiar with the cumulative records of all students as required by district policy.
- Foster professional relationships with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and community members.
- Provide documentation for professional growth as outlined by the LPDC guidelines and maintain licensure.
- Dress professionally and act as a positive role model for students.
- Provide guidance and counseling to students to support their educational and personal development.
- Effectively manage classroom organization and discipline to ensure a respectful learning environment.
- Develop clear and effective lesson plans that align with Ohio Department of Education standards and district curricula.
- Submit lesson plans on time and present clear, complete, and accurate explanations suitable for student understanding.
- Engage students by presenting subject matter enthusiastically, ensuring a calm, confident, and poised classroom atmosphere.
- Encourage student participation, ask relevant questions to check for understanding, and provide positive reinforcement for acceptable academic and social behavior.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide relevant homework assignments aligned with learning objectives.
- Cooperate with special services programs (e.g., tutoring, resource, small group instruction) to support students' individual needs.
- Manage classroom materials and resources, keeping accurate records of supplies and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with parents through interim reports, report cards, and conferences to keep them informed about student progress.
- Participate in committees, co-curricular activities, and professional development opportunities as required.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Help in the selection of textbooks, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Attend county, district, and faculty meetings, workshops, and seminars as part of ongoing professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the principal in accordance with the negotiated agreement.
Additional Working Conditions:
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
- Interaction with unruly or challenging student behaviors.
Terms of Employment:
Salary and work year are to be determined by the Board of Education and negotiated agreement.
