CLASS TITLE: ADAPTED PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER
PURPOSE:
Adapted physical education is a designated instructional service as defined by the Master Plan for Special Education. The goal of this position is to provide instruction to students with exceptional needs requiring developmental and corrective instruction in physical education.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
1. Assess referred students to determine eligibility to the
adapted physical education program.
2. Develop and implement programs to meet the individual needs of identified students.
3. Serve on Individual Educational Planning Teams as needed.
4. Provide resource materials to classroom teachers in the area of remedial physical education.
5. Coordinate the total District program in adapted physical
education.
6. Develop and conduct inservice workshops for District staff.
7. Keep apprised of legislation and regulations in the area of
special education and adapted physical education.
8. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of SELPA
and psychological Services.
Salary : $56,579 - $116,907
