This apprenticeship combines structured training with on-the-job learning, equipping you with the skills to excel in laser operations within a state-of-the-art, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
As a Laser Operator Apprentice, you will:
- Learn to set up, calibrate, and operate CNC laser cutting equipment.
- Use PEP nesting software to prepare and execute cutting programs.
- Inspect and measure finished parts using precision tools to ensure quality standards.
- Operate forklifts, jib cranes, and overhead cranes for material handling.
- Perform routine maintenance on laser machinery to maintain efficiency.
The hours for this position are from 2:00 PM to 12:00 AM, Monday through Thursday. Candidates must be available to train on 1st shift (6:00 AM to 2:00 PM) during the initial training period.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in math and problem-solving skills.
- A willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to obtain forklift and crane certifications during the program.
