We are Looking for:
Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for our Colorectal clinic. The ideal candidate will support our specialists by providing exceptional patient care and administrative support. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Rooming the patient
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in EMR systems
- Scheduling surgeries
- Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day
- Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-Authorization/Determination for medications
- Ensures that physician is in-network and authorized/up-to-date referral is in the patient's chart
- Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures related to colorectal health
- Follow up on calls/voicemails and document phone log/conversation
- Educates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered
- Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient
- Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed
- Performs related duties as required

- Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a Colorectal practice
- Bilingual is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
