GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician, MET, will assist with Manufacturing Engineering-related activities/projects at the Club Car Augusta Main Plant. The MET will work under the direction of both the Focus Factory Manager & MET Leader and will work closely with Operations and Materials to support manufacturing operations with an emphasis on quality and continuous improvement. This includes troubleshooting process, equipment, and material issues, performing and documenting equipment and fixture setup and validation, and updating process documentation. Candidates must be able to interpret technical drawings and other documents that define product specifications and utilize conventional measuring equipment to confirm conformance to product specifications.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Manufacturing Engineer(s) with developing standard work, training procedures, modules, and practices that will improve manufacturing methods, procedures, and standard work.
- Assist with hands-on training of manufacturing employees on new products, tooling, equipment, and process revisions.
- Assist in the support, execution, and monitoring of Continuous Improvement activities such as Rapid Improvement Events, Value Stream Mapping, and Kaizen events.
- Identify and troubleshoot process, material, or equipment problems to protect the customer, increase first-pass yield, and reduce cycle time.
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers to identify the root cause and initiate data-driven corrective/preventive actions for both line process challenges and non-conforming material.
- Develop, assemble, and validate tooling and equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing methods.
- Complete time studies to quantify and document processing times and identify areas for process improvements.
- Interpret schematics, assembly drawings, data, and process sheets to develop assembly fixtures, validate processes, and confirm part conformance to product specifications.
- Coordinate the disposition of nonconforming material and participate on the Material Review Board as required.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB
Education:
- High school diploma or GED with 8 to 10 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment or documented progress toward a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
- Understanding of Lean principles and root cause analysis, corrective and preventative action.
- Desire to learn and develop technical skills to keep current with changing operations and technologies.
Experience:
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Six Sigma Green Belt/ Black Belt Certification a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires occasional lifting of objects of objects 25 to 50 pounds.
