GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Senior Manager, Payroll and Benefits Accounting is a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager to oversee our payroll accounting, payroll tax accounting, benefit accounting, Incurred But Not Reported (IBNR) accounting, and travel and expense accounting functions, reporting directly to the Global Controller. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of state and local payroll taxes and obligations and will be responsible for ensuring all accounting is in compliance with all relevant regulations and US GAAP
Essential Job Functions:
- Manage the payroll accounting process, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies around accruals, validate liabilities, report on head count and partner to improve the process.
- Handle payroll tax accounting, including the validation of filing of state and local payroll tax filings prepared by ADP, ensure our financial statements properly reflect all obligations reported and unreported.
- Partner with our external actuary firm on Pension accounting and its quarterly reporting.
- Oversee benefit accounting, including the reconciliation of benefit accounts and calculation of benefit load requirements to maintain proper accrual levels.
- Manage IBNR accounting, ensuring accurate estimation and reporting of incurred but not reported liabilities.
- Supervise travel and expense accounting, ensuring compliance with company policies and accurate reporting of expenses, US based point person for our team in India
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy in payroll and benefits accounting.
- Maintain and update global travel policy for all regions and ensure that deviations to global standard are documented and approved.
- Ensure financial statements are aligned with requirements to support compliance with all state and local payroll tax regulations and obligations. Ensure they have proper footnotes related to obligations related to employee compensation and expenses.
- Collaborate with HR and other departments to ensure accurate and timely reporting of payroll and benefits information.
- Responsible for our global corporate card program with Corpay and ensuring compliance and payment. Responsible for the day to day relationship with Corpay, resolution of all issues, and communication of any changes of the program to the greater organization
- Responsible for our global travel program with Navan and partner with Navan and other outside support to enroll Club Car and it partner entities into cost saving programs, including the relationship with equity partner travel department.
- Provide leadership and guidance on accounting requirement for payroll and benefits accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement to implement automated solutions for both Payroll and Travel and Expense.
- Manage the ePayables program for Club Car with a market cap of $800M to hit a vendor participation rate of 5%. Incorporate, ePayables globally.
- Responsible for ad hoc projects and additional responsibilities as required.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent prior professional experience
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in payroll accounting, payroll tax accounting, benefit accounting, IBNR, and travel and expense accounting.
Extensive knowledge of state and local payroll taxes and obligations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience:
Previous work experience in Manufacturing is required.
