Overview
Are you passionate about science and love working with kids? We’re looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and responsible STEM Summer Camp Counselor to join our team this summer! As a STEM Camp Counselor, you’ll guide campers through exciting, hands-on science and technology activities. You’ll serve as both a teacher and a role model—encouraging curiosity, fostering creativity, and ensuring a safe, fun environment.
Duties
- Lead engaging STEM-based activities and experiments
- Ensure a safe environment by following safety protocols at all times
- Collaborate with fellow counselors and camp leadership
- Communicate positively with parents and guardians as needed
- Provide guidance and support in behavior management to promote a positive camp atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with campers, parents, and fellow staff members to ensure a cohesive camp experience.
- Assist with daily camp operations, including setup and cleanup of activities.
- Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating strong values, teamwork, and leadership skills.
Requirements
- 21 years or older
- Demonstrated passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math
- Experience teaching or working with children (e.g., tutoring, classroom, camps)
- Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
- Reliable, enthusiastic, and flexible team player
- Experience working with children in settings such as tutoring, childcare, or educational programs is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices is a plus.
- Strong behavior management skills to effectively address challenges that may arise during camp activities.
- Previous experience in camp settings is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative when necessary.
- A passion for working with youth and helping them grow through educational and recreational activities.
- Must be able to commit to the entire camp session duration.
