Job Overview :
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Product Owner to lead the development and optimization of our golf and country club technology products. This role requires a unique blend of industry expertise and technical knowledge to deliver solutions that enhance club operations, member engagement, and the overall member experience. The Product Owner will collaborate closely with stakeholders, IT, and external partners to ensure our products align with our organizational goals and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities :
Product Strategy and Vision :
- Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap for golf and country club technology solutions.
- Continuously evaluate industry trends, competitor offerings, and member feedback to refine product strategy.
- Ensure alignment of product development with organizational goals and the unique needs of golf and country club environments.
Stakeholder Collaboration :
- Collaborate with club management, operations, and IT to understand business needs and gather requirements.
- Engage with executive leadership to set and adjust priorities, ensuring product enhancements align with broader business objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to identify pain points and opportunities for product innovation.
Product Development and Delivery :
- Develop and prioritize product features and user stories that address the specific needs of golf and country clubs, such as booking systems, member engagement tools, and event management.
- Partner with development, design, and UX teams or vendors to create user-friendly and intuitive interfaces tailored for club members and staff.
- Oversee product development sprints, backlog management, and quality assurance processes to ensure timely and high-quality releases.
Technical Expertise and Quality Standards :
- Ensure that products meet rigorous standards for quality, performance, and security, aligning with best practices in hospitality and member services.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party solutions (COTS) that complement or enhance our proprietary technologies.
Data-Driven Decision Making :
- Analyze product usage, member feedback, and operational data to make informed decisions that improve product performance and member satisfaction.
- Provide actionable insights and regular performance reports to leadership, utilizing data to support ongoing product improvement.
Vendor and Partner Management :
- Establish and maintain partnerships with technology vendors, ensuring products are well-supported and integrated with other systems used within clubs.
Member Experience Enhancement :
- Develop products that enhance the member experience, focusing on ease of access, personalized service, and real-time communication.
- Facilitate training and support for club staff to maximize the effectiveness of the technology in improving member engagement and operational efficiency.
- Leveraging firsthand experience on the course to identify pain points and design technology solutions that enhance the golfing experience for club members. Deeply passionate about golf, using this expertise to align product strategies with the unique culture and expectations of country club environments. Regularly engage in golf and country club activities to test and refine product features, ensuring they meet real-world user demands. Avid golfer who uses time on the course to network with stakeholders, gather insights, and foster innovative ideas for improving club operations and member satisfaction. Regularly practice and play golf to gain firsthand insights into the member experience, using this perspective to design and refine technology solutions that enhance the enjoyment and efficiency of golf and country club operations.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field; experience in product ownership, particularly in hospitality or membership-based services, is preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of golf and country club operations, member engagement practices, and industry standards.
- Proven experience in managing product lifecycles from ideation through to delivery and optimization.
- Strong technical aptitude, familiarity with software development processes, and experience working within Agile/Scrum environments. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
