What are the responsibilities and job description for the Attendant Pool position at ClubCorp?

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Responsible for the safety of all Members, guests, and Employee Partners in and around the swimming pool during posted hours of operation and special events.  Ensure all aspects of pool safety by enforcing, including all pool rules and Club policies.
  2. Check in and monitor Member and guest usage by verifying Membership as applicable.
  3. Collect and turn in applicable swimming pool revenue, charge slips, etc. on a daily basis following policy and procedures so that there is no delay in processing. 
  4. Maintain the cleanliness of the pool area (i.e., removal of towels, dishes, etc.) and straighten pool furniture at the beginning of each shift, throughout the day, and at the end of each shift so that the safety of the members will be protected, and the pool area will maintain its inviting image.
  5. Responsible for the service of food and beverage to the Members and guests, adhering to the ClubCorp standards of excellence service and Hospitality training. 
  6. Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the al carte menu is mandatory, including daily features and specials that may not be available directly on the menu, including knowledge of all various liquors, beer and wines available by the Club.
  7. Accurately execute Member/guest orders and requests in a timely fashion.
  8. Know Members names and greet them promptly in a manner to provide a warm welcome and make them feel at home.
  9. Responsible for seeing that daily assignments and side work is completed in their respective areas, to meet Club standards and as communicated in the Star Service FOCUS expectations (ie orderly/organized work areas, consistently sanitary work areas, refill/stock containers and supplies, etc.)
  10. Assist fellow Employee Partners, Members, and guests to ensure delivery of the 3 steps of service without being directed.  Be aware of team members and the environment and participate as a member of the team. 
  11. Notify supervisor of Member/Guest complaints at the time they occur. Rectify, practicing service recover, any complaints as soon as possible. 
  12. Responsible for the completion of additional duties as assigned periodically by the F&B Director, Service Director, Private Events Director, etc. 
  13. Must be able to interact with Members/Guests professionally, helping them with changes and last-minute requests as needed.

 

OTHER ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club's operation, it may be necessary that each Employee Partner to perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your job, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other Employees are expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed. 
  2. Adhere to all of the various company, club, and department written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job. 
  3. Responsible for maintaining good conduct and safe working habits while in all areas and assuring others are acting safely. 
  4. Responsible for attendance at all Service Training Meetings as requested.
  5. Follow all service department, club and corporate guidelines and policies as instructed by supervisor, policies, and manuals. 
  6. Attendance at daily line-up and participating as requested. 
  7. Wearing a CLEAN and neat uniform that follows ClubCorp and your property uniform standards daily. 

 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

  1. Reports Directly To: Athletics Director, Pool Manager, & F&B Director
  2. Also Works For: General Manager and other Department Heads

 

DIMENSIONS

  • WORK EXPERIENCE:  Previous F&B experience preferred.
  • EDUCATION:  High School Diploma preferred
  • CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:  completion of Hospitality First Certification and alcohol and food safety awareness certified.
  • TRAINING:  Hospitality certified. 
  • PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:  Excellent communication skills and articulate speech. Ability to follow instructions well.
  • WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:  Majority outdoors and in some cases, indoors

 

Attendance Requirements for this position are outlined on the weekly schedule. Additional hours are required to meet deadlines for the position, including weekends and/or holidays

Job Summary 

Our Pool Attendants are passionate about excellence and deliver exceptional service to members and guests. They frequently participate in overseeing swimming and water activities.

Day-to-Day 

 

  • Create custom Member and guest experiences by delivering exceptional hospitality.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and organization in the pool area and other workstations.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the a la carte menu, including daily features and specials, and knowledge of all various liquors, beer, and wines available at the Club.
  • Comply with all safety and health department procedures and state and federal liquor laws. Maintain Company Safety and Sanitation Standards.
  • Practice good service recovery by rectifying any complaints as soon as possible.

About You

 

  • One year of food service-related position preferred.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced or high-pressure environment.
  • Effective conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Food Handler and Alcohol Certifications as required by State and City.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
