• 1 professional and energetic School-Age Child Care Teacher

The School-Age Child Care Center Director position and the School-Age Child Care Center Teacher position are primarily before & after school positions at one of our Frederick, MD area in-school located child care centers, with additional mid-day hours available at our Frederick, MD all ages child care center if needed.

Our Teachers and Directors are responsible for general classroom management and supervision, which includes the personal care, and positive discipline of the children. As a school-age center Director, you will maintain children's files and paperwork, as well as prepare and implement activities for children that stress physical, social, and emotional growth and provide materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in active play.

Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Required Qualifications:

• Ability to pass a criminal background check, and have fingerprints kept on-file with Frederick Co. Sheriff’s Office & FBI
• For a School Age Teacher or School-Age Director position, the candidate must have the 45-hour School Age Methods and Materials course, as well as the 45-hour Child Development course (both courses = 90 hours total)
• For a Preschool Teacher position, the candidate must have the 45-hour Preschool Certification, as well as the 45-hour Child Development course (both courses = 90 hours total)
• For an Infant/Toddler Teacher position, the candidate must have the 45-hour Infant/Toddler Certification, as well as the 45-hour Child Development course (both courses = 90 hours total)
• 9-hour Communication Course or an MSDE-acceptable college course substitute
• Current Child CPR and First Aid Certifications or be willing to obtain.
• Minimum of 19 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential (or willing to obtain, and enrolled in associated courses)
• Have at least one of the following:
• a) 400 hours of recent experience in a licensed child care facility working with the age group you are applying to work with , or;
• b) One year of college coursework relating to the care of the age group you are applying to work with , or;
• c) an MSDE-acceptable combination of college course work & work experience.

Clubhouse Kids Qualifications:

• Must meet all requirements stipulated by MSDE (listed above) for this position
• Must have minimum 1-year experience working with in a MD Licensed child care center working with the age group you are applying to work with
• Ability to pass standard illicit drug use testing
• AA or BA degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred but not required.
• Pleasant and friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
• Highly professional and dependable
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Excellent customer service, and problem-solving skills; including the ability to maintain composure under stress
• Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages & skill levels, as well as with parents, co-workers, and management
• Must be able to assume low level postures to allow physical and visual contact with children, see and hear well enough to keep children safe, and to engage in physical activity with them on a day-to-day basis (i.e.: stoop & bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects up to 40 pounds to at least waist high on a consistent basis throughout each workday)
• Must be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time
• Ability to perform strict center & toy cleaning procedures according to MSDE, MDH, and CDC guidance
• Ability to use a computer with basic to intermediate proficiency
• Ability to work indoors or outdoors during all seasons
• Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
• Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility is a plus

Shift:

• Day Shift. Exact shift to be determined, but will be primarily be a split-shift of Monday-Friday 6:30am-8:45am and 3:00pm-6:30pm, and working approximately 6 to 7 hours per day on all FCPS Teacher Professional Days, except major holidays. Perfect for College Students! No nights or weekends!
