Clune Construction’s Safety Internship Program offers students a hands-on opportunity to learn how a leading commercial general contractor manages and enforces jobsite safety. Interns will gain valuable experience by working alongside Clune’s Safety and Field Operations teams on active construction projects. This internship is ideal for individuals pursuing a career in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Safety, or Environmental Health & Safety.
Construction Safety Interns are immersed in the day-to-day safety operations of active job sites while gaining exposure to Clune’s broader construction management process. Interns will spend time:
Shadowing Safety Managers and Superintendents.
Engaging in cross-functional coordination with Project Management and Field teams.
Learning best practices in jobsite logistics, compliance, quality control, and emergency response.
Education and Experience:
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification (preferred).
Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (preferred or ability to obtain).
Responsibilities:
Project Support & Site Safety:
Assist in performing regular safety inspections and evaluations on job sites to ensure compliance with Clune’s Safety Program and applicable regulations.
Training & Safety Education:
Participate in and help organize safety training programs
Ensure trade partners meet Clune’s Safety 101 training compliance.
Incident Investigation & Reporting:
Assist in the documentation and analysis of incidents
Program Development & Continuous Improvement:
Support the ongoing review and improvement of Clune’s Safety Program and help implement updates based on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Attend outside safety trainings and certifications as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with field workers, subcontractors, project managers, and executives.
Ability to organize and prioritize tasks such as site walk-throughs, training sessions, and meetings.
Detail-oriented with strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
Reliable and punctual, serving as a trusted support for project teams.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and iOS-based applications; familiarity with safety management software is a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation for travel to various job sites.
Comfortable working on active construction sites, including walking on uneven ground, climbing stairs/ladders, and being outdoors.
Clune interns typically work from 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with some flexibility depending on project needs.
Pay: $25.75/hr.
