What are the responsibilities and job description for the Garage Organizer position at Clutter Clearout?
Our company, ClutterClearout.com does garage organization, storage installations and estate cleanouts. Items our clients no longer want are then sold through consignment at our store in Bloomington, IN. We currently serve central and southern Indiana including Louisville. We are are looking for someone that can handle our organization leads that are coming from the Cincinnati area.
Requirements:
1. Must be able to hang slatwall and build 2x4 shelving units. A basic understanding of operating power tools is necessary.
2. Must be able to lift 50 lbs or more into a box truck.
3. Must have a sense for how to organize and problem solve in stressful situations.
4. Must have good communication skills and incredible levels of patience.
5. Must have a drivers license in good standing and be comfortable operating a box truck.
We pay $25 per hour if you are able to complete a job without any assistance. If we need to send two people for a job, then the pay would be $20 per hour.
We will have approximately 2 projects per week through March and 3 per week starting in April. It will take several weeks to get to full hourly potential. After training and job shadows, we will be able to start dispatching for solo jobs.
Typical Day:
1. Rent a box truck from Penske or Uhaul. We own a box truck that you will use unless it is needed for other jobs.
2. Pickup materials for installation at Menards including shelving, lumber and slatwall.
3. Start removing items from the clients garage. Items will be separated for consignment, trash, keep and donate.
4. Sweep Floors
5. Install any shelving, overhead storage or slatwall to build the garage infrastructure.
6. Separate items into containers and organize other items into the garage.
7. Return the box truck.
The average garage organization day from start to end is 6 to 8 hours. If you have a truck and enclosed trailer, we can offer a $40 bonus per day if we don't need to rent.

Our focus is to meet the needs of people that can afford a $200 garage cleanout to a $5000 garage makeover and everyone in between . We always start with our client goals and budget and work backwards from there to provide the best suggestions. "Garage organization" is a very objective term that means something different for many people. Occasionally, we have clients with hoarder garages that expect a $5000 minimalist makeover on a $500 budget and they don't want to get rid of obvious trash. It is our job to be patient, kind and helpful with our clients in what occasionally turns into a very stressful day. We have been yelled at by individuals that may be suffering from a loss or an illness and we have seen tears of joy. In both circumstances, losing our temper or leaving the client with their items in the driveway is NEVER an option.
