As a Controls Field Technician II, you’ll be an essential part of our team, taking on an advanced role as an industrial electrical technician. This position requires you to be proficient in control systems, supporting troubleshooting and commissioning tasks alongside Integration Engineers both on client sites and during project completions. You will have the opportunity to work with minimal supervision while addressing tasks that require you to be hands-on troubleshooting electrical systems. If you have experience editing PLCs such as Allen Bradley and Siemens, this will set you apart!
The ideal candidate will thrive in challenging environments, working with both external clients and internal teams to quickly resolve issues. You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineers, keeping open communication with all project stakeholders to ensure the timely and smooth completion of both short- and long-term projects.
Location & Work Conditions :
This role requires candidates to be within commuting distance of The Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans. Expect varied work conditions, including extreme temperatures, dusty or dirty environments, and physical tasks such as climbing ladders, navigating obstacles, working in low light, and occasionally in confined spaces.
This is a non-exempt, hourly paid position that reports to the Manager, Controls Engineering. Please note, this role requires non-traditional working hours, typically from ~8 : 00 PM - ~3 : 00 AM, with occasional overtime. This is a long-term project with occasional travel. When the project is over, travel increases to 85% - 100%. The possibility of relocation to Sanford, FL or Atlanta, GA may be possible.

Key Responsibilities :
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, troubleshooting issues and producing electrical prints in design.
- Implement solutions to enhance the efficiency of control systems.
- Observe systems and quickly locate and resolve issues with electrical and control components.
- Apply your deep knowledge of electrical and control devices in system applications.
- Ensure safety practices are followed, including proper use of PPE and identifying situational hazards.
- Utilize hand and power tools proficiently (screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, grinders, etc.).
- Operate electrical testing devices (multi-meters) with competence.
- Stay up to date with common software tools like Microsoft Office and other essential programs.
- Take on other responsibilities as needed to support project goals.
