What are the responsibilities and job description for the Superintendent position at CLX Engineering?
Our Superintendents must be able to travel 100% of the time and work independently to complete reports and administrative tasks. When traveling, our Superintendents will collaborate with the Project Manager to ensure mobilization plans are successfully executed, troubleshoot problems as they arise, and maintain a professional, steady momentum with vendors making certain all required tasks are completed on time and with quality. Ideal candidates have proficient grammar and document presentation skills to effectively communicate with clients and internal CLX staff on project status. Candidates should have experience with airport baggage handling systems &/or material handling.
This is a salaried, non-exempt position reporting to the Director, Project Management.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States and not need future sponsorship.
Day-to-day Superintendents:
- Run day to day operations on site.
- Communicate with home office personnel.
- Provide schedule updates in a timely manner.
- Read and understand installation drawings.
- Redline drawings for installation and “As-Built” documentation
- Coordinate and oversee multiple sub-contractors including mechanical installation and electrical installation.
- Cooperate and share control with other team members.
- Write a comprehensive work plan.
- Update daily progress and issues to Project Manager.
- Ensure quality control.
- Inventory materials and tools.
- Write workplans and get them reviewed with all the stakeholders on site.
- Provide daily report to the Project Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Material handling experience or specific airport baggage handling systems
- Travel will be required on a weekly basis - 100% travel
- Foster a team environment and work independently
- Self-motivated, proactively communicates, anticipates problems, and addresses them without waiting to be asked
DESIRED SKILLS OR QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS Engineering degree in electrical or computer science/technology from an accredited college/university
- Extensive experience working in airports and specifically airport baggage handling systems and with conveyors
