The Product Data Analyst ensures the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of product data within Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365 F&O). This role supports enterprise-wide sourcing strategies by managing product master records, standardizing data practices, and overseeing product lifecycle management. The Product Data Analyst collaborates with internal stakeholders and suppliers to enable streamlined procurement and reporting processes while minimizing data redundancies and errors.
Responsibilities
- Product Master Maintenance
- Create, manage, and maintain product records within D365 F&O, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
- Define and update product attributes, including descriptions, units of measure, pricing structures, and procurement categories.
- Collaborate with Category Buyers and Site Buyers to align product records with enterprise-wide sourcing strategies.
- Establish relational links between equivalent products with similar form, fit, and function characteristics.
- Data Standardization
- Develop and enforce standards for product naming conventions, codes, and categorization to prevent duplicates and ensure system-wide consistency.
- Implement and monitor validation rules and processes to reduce data entry errors and improve data quality.
- Regularly audit product data to identify discrepancies and resolve inconsistencies.
- Product Lifecycle Management
- Manage the entire lifecycle of products, including creation, updates, and deactivation for obsolete items.
- Maintain accurate historical tracking of products to support compliance, audit requirements, and reporting needs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement procedures for managing product changes effectively.
- Stakeholder and Supplier Engagement
- Interface with suppliers to ensure their products are accurately represented and available within D365 F&O.
- Partner with internal roles, including procurement teams and operational staff, to ensure products and services are readily accessible for purchase order creation.
- Provide guidance to stakeholders on proper product selection and ensure alignment with organizational policies and sourcing strategies.
- Technical Proficiency Experience in Microsoft Dynamics D365, with an understanding of product master data management, relational databases, and procurement processes.
- Analytical Skills Ability to analyze data for consistency, trends, and anomalies to ensure high-quality product data.
- Communication Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with suppliers, buyers, and cross-functional teams.
- Detail-Oriented Strong attention to detail to ensure data accuracy and prevent errors.
- Problem-Solving Ability to identify and resolve product data issues efficiently while adhering to established standards.
- BA/BS in Business Management, Accounting, Information Systems, Data Management, Finance or commensurate industry experience.
- Knowledge of construction industry preferred
- Preference given to individuals with experience in Microsoft Dynamics D365 or comparable ERP systems.
- Sedentary work, requiring regular lifting up to 10lbs and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
- Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
- Inside, climate-controlled working conditions, seated at a desk for extended periods of time.
- Occasional overnight travel and more frequent local travel.
