The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing our technology infrastructure. This role benefits from expertise and experience in network engineering, systems engineering, video conference engineering, cloud computing and hosting, security engineering, and desktop computing. The ideal candidate will be versatile and capable of handling a wide range of technologies to ensure the seamless operation of our IT environment.
Responsibilities
Network Engineering: Design, implement, and manage robust and scalable network solutions to support business operations.
Systems Engineering: Develop and maintain server and storage systems, ensuring high availability and performance.
Video Conference Engineering: Set up and manage video conferencing systems to facilitate seamless communication across the organization.
Cloud Computing and Hosting: Deploy and manage cloud-based solutions, ensuring efficient and secure hosting of virtual desktops, applications, and services using Microsoft Azure.
Security Engineering: Implement and maintain security measures to protect the organization’s IT infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities.
Desktop Computing: Provide support and management for desktop computing environments, ensuring optimal performance and user satisfaction.
Technical System Selection: Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and systems to meet business needs.
Implementation and Management: Oversee the implementation and ongoing management of IT systems, ensuring they meet organizational requirements and standards.
Manage Security Systems: Set up and configure security cameras, oversee vendor and conduct regular maintenance checks and troubleshoot any issues with the security systems.
Site Surveys: Perform site assessments to determine the optimal placement of security cameras and other equipment.
Oversee Vendor Relationships: Manage relationships with vendors, ensuring their work meets quality standards and project requirements.
Differentiating Skills and Capabilities
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in one or more of the following technical engineering disciplines: network using Cisco suite of products and services, video conferencing using Microsoft Teams, cloud computing using Microsoft Azure, security engineering, and desktop computing.
Versatility: Ability to work across a wide range of technologies and adapt to new challenges quickly.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently as part of 3rd level, escalated support.
Project Management: Experience in participating in the engineering function of IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in related infrastructure engineering technologies as listed above.
Preferred Experience
Technical System Selection: Experience in evaluating and selecting technical systems that align with business goals.
Engineering and Implementation: Proven track record of engineering and implementing IT solutions in a complex environment.
Management: Experience in managing IT infrastructure and ensuring its alignment with organizational objectives.
Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree or 4 years experience in information technology
