Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient dishwasher/food prep cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are properly cleaned and sanitized. This position is essential for supporting our restaurant in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel environment.
Duties
- Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and cooking equipment using appropriate cleaning methods.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area and kitchen floors by sweeping and mopping as needed.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as directed by the kitchen staff, including basic food handling and preparation.
- Support bussing efforts by clearing tables and transporting dirty dishes to the dishwashing area.
- Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report any malfunctions to the kitchen manager.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations regarding food handling and sanitation practices.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods.
- Help maintain cleanliness of the FOH area of the restaurant.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with food handling practices is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong commitment to cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration in a hospitality setting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
