A family office services firm, with offices in both Greenwich, CT and Falmouth, MA, is seeking to add a full-charge bookkeeper to their team.
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of 2 days on-site in either location.
Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions, including sales, purchases, and payments.
- Managing the general ledgers for various family office clients
- Handling month end closings and account reconciliations
- Providing quarterly financial reports to senior management and clients
- Special projects as needed
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports to provide insights into the company's financial position.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Assist with payroll processing, including calculating wages, deductions, and preparing payroll reports.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly.
- Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and providing data for budget preparation.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks to streamline bookkeeping tasks.
Skills
- Proficiency in 10 key typing for efficient data entry.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
- Proficiency with Quickbooks / Quickbooks Online is preferred
- Familiarity with Gusto payroll reports is helpful
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to work both independently and as a team
- Strong budgeting skills to assist in financial planning.
- Experience in public accounting is a plus.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts, including debits and credits.
- Knowledge of corporate accounting practices.
- Familiarity with payroll processes and regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data effectively.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.20 - $34.94 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
