Class Summary
The Senior Project Manager performs and facilitates project management duties and ensures adherence to standard operation procedures, best practices and division guidelines for studies and projects. Oversees compliance with applicable codes, regulations and processes and standards. Manages assigned project budget and schedules and serves as a liaison to department to develop projects scopes and budgets to meet long and short-term goals. Prepares components of CIP annual programs updates including, direct liaison with departments for project development, refinement of needed project scopes and costs for inclusion in annual CIP program. Manages complex projects and systems, work processes and compliance. Monitors project completion status and approves project deliverables. Procures and manages contractors and consultants as well as facilitates Right-of-Way acquisition processes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares project updates to the CIP annual program updates for assigned project area;
- Manages projects beginning including planning, scoping, design and construction completion;
- Provides communication of project related information with local and other government officials, management, staff, contractors and general public;
- Supports right-of-way acquisition including ordering title reports, legal descriptions, appraisals and negotiations of fair market value with property owner and documentation of the process;
- Managing construction projects from design through project completion;
- Developing design and construction project scope of work and administering and participating in the consultant selection process;
- Reviewing the project budget, processing expenditure requests and contract amendments, approving payments and confirming funding availability.
- Other duties as assigned.
