PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Director Program Delivery will develop, implement, and administer program delivery strategies and operations to ensure the achievement of company and programs goals and objectives. This individual will lead the program delivery function for a defined geographic territory with emphasis on safety, quality, cost and timely delivery of products and services. This includes building and maintaining a high performing program delivery team and working with other regional leaders to adopt and share best practices. In addition, this individual will play an integral role in metric management, operational systems, client account management, assisting territory business development and functional objectives including responsibility for territory P&L.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Manage, oversee, and direct program delivery for all new and existing programs for a defined geographic area of the company.
- Be accountable for meeting or exceeding budget expectations and program goals and deliverables and contractual requirements within the territory.
- Lead a program delivery management team, creating an open, collaborative, and candid culture that enables the team to form constructive relationships with others and report in a clear and concise manner.
- Develop strong relationships with utilities, implementation partners and subcontractors. Successful collaboration and coordination with clients, partners, and client program managers in the effective management of programs to meet company and contract initiative and goals.
- Collaborate with Program Managers and other functional departments to identify, monitor and manage key performance metrics related to program delivery and program goal success and achievement.
- Active identification and mitigation of any program issues, risks and dependencies and produce status updates as and when needed.
- Review financial statements, sales and activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas of improvement.
- Collaborate with Business Development and other business leaders on territory business development, renewals and RFP processes as needed.
- Partner with Program Managers and Human Resources regarding human capital needs, training and succession planning.
- Be accountable for delivering operational excellence, implementing best practices, innovation, and continuous improvements in program delivery within the region. Develop, review, and recommend improved program delivery policies and procedures. Ensure the proper implementation, documentation, and maintenance of approved changes.
- Coordinate needed support to program delivery areas through interdepartmental interface for smooth workflow and cost-efficient product or service delivery.
- Contribute to the overall short and long-range planning process in the establishment and assessment of the organization's annual operating budget.
- Collaborate with Business Development and business leaders in establishing and maintaining best practices of account management while continually working to identify new opportunities for growth within the territory.
- Understand and monitor regulatory environment in the territory and advise company on emerging opportunities and threats.
- Participate and represent company and program interests in and at regulatory and industry wide events.
- Ensure that work is conducted in compliance with OSHA and company safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree; MBA or relevant Masters Degree preferred.
- 10 years energy industry experience; experience delivering energy efficiency programs a plus.
- 10 years operations management experience.
- Demonstrated track record of building and leading high performing teams with strong results orientation.
- Strong financial and business acumen including budgeting and forecasting.
- Ability to work and thrive in a highly collaborative fast paced work environment with a proven track record with working with other business leaders to achieve goals.
- Proven ability to collaborate with business leaders across company on all topics related to program delivery, including the ability to obtain consensus, approval and manage projects through to implementation.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in speech and writing, with customers, staff, managers, supervisors, contractors and clients.
- Strong organizational, project management, problem solving, and analytical skills necessary.
- Resourcefulness to meet tight deadlines and flexibility with fluctuating priorities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with the highest level of integrity and ethics.
- Although this position is based in (Location to be determined by defined geographic area) travel to other offices and client sites may be occasionally required. State residency may be necessary as required by client contract).
