Summary of Position :
The Quality Assistant- Auditor and Document Control position supports SSI facility with respect to internal auditing and document control responsibilities. This position is responsible for evaluating a company's internal controls, assessing risks, and ensuring compliance with regulations by conducting audits across various departments, identifying potential issues, and recommending corrective actions. This position manages the flow of documents within the organization, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, and proper filing of both physical and electronic documents by tracking versions, maintaining document registers, and enforcing document control procedures.
Essential Duties :
- Develop and / or guide development of policies and procedures related to food / product safety and quality requirements.
- Be responsible for validating progress through metrics, audits, observations, etc.
- Be responsible for validating the process through metrics, audits, observations, etc.
- Be responsible for maintaining critical records
- Be responsible for validating corrective actions
- Ensure all policies and procedures support the goals of the program
- Develop and deliver the metric / presentations for and facilitating management review.
- Be responsible for validating food safety, quality and HACCP Plans
- Act as the company liaison during external audits
- Schedule and perform internal audits
- Generate and document corrective actions from audits and customer complaints.
- Act as the company liaison during external audits
- Assists in creating, implementing, maintaining, and improving key QMS elements, likely including : Internal Audits, Document Control, etc.
- Remain up to date on and communicate new regulations and upcoming changes
- Research and generate requested regulatory documentation for customers.
- Assist in completing customer surveys and questionnaires.
- Develop and deliver training related to core areas of expertise as needed
- Serve as additional resource for process improvement / project management
- Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department and throughout the organization.
- Ability to travel (5 - 10%) to customer and supplier locations as well as attend relevant conferences / seminars
- Other duties as assigned .
