Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for a deeply curious, creative, eager to learn, bright, energetic, and organized individual to take on this exciting opportunity! This role requires an individual that has experience creating engaging content for all social media platforms, managing a content publishing calendar, email marketing, and writing marketing copy.

The Job

The Social Media & Content Strategist will manage the creation and execution of innovative external communications that build brand awareness, engagement, and strength.

This role will also manage the day-to-day publishing of outbound content. They will create cohesive & strategic graphics and content for the use on social media, web, email, print, and publication release. As part of the marketing team, they will have a strong voice in the delivery of CMC North America’s corporate and brand messaging.

Job Responsibilities :

  • This will include but is not limited to :
  • Content Strategy & Planning
  • Developing comprehensive content calendars across multiple social media platforms
  • Planning and coordinating content themes, campaigns, and posting schedules
  • Aligning content with marketing objectives and brand voice
  • Identifying trending topics, opportunities for engagement, and social media trends

Content Creation & Management

  • Writing, editing, and optimizing social media posts
  • Creating graphics & visual assets for content
  • Coordinating with the marketing team for other media assets such as videos
  • Managing content libraries and digital assets
  • Ensuring consistent brand messaging across all platforms
  • Adapting content for different social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
  • Scheduling & Publication

  • Using scheduling tools (like Hootsuite, Buffer, or Later) to manage post timing
  • Coordinating content publication across time zones
  • Maintaining consistent posting schedules
  • Managing last-minute content changes or crisis communications
  • Analytics & Reporting

  • Tracking social media metrics and engagement rates
  • Analyzing content performance and audience behavior
  • Creating regular performance reports
  • Making data-driven recommendations for content optimization
  • Community Management

  • Monitoring social media channels for engagement opportunities
  • Responding to comments and messages
  • Managing online communities
  • Coordinating with customer service teams for issue resolution
  • Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Working with marketing, PR, and creative teams
  • Coordinating with stakeholders for content approval
  • Managing relationships with external partners or influencers
  • Ensuring alignment with broader marketing initiatives
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, Journalism or Public Relations
  • 1 - 5 years of Marketing, Social Media Management, or Graphic Design experience
  • Proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Previous experience with the press and paid media advertising
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong grammar, vocabulary, and persuasive writing, etc.
  • Advanced understanding of social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Proven ability to develop, implement and execute campaigns
  • Proficient in Google Suite
  • Able to multitask and work on more than one project at a time
  • Motivation to work in a highly collaborative environment
  • Prior experience working with media and journalists preferred
  • Experience working with Website Content Management Systems such as : Webflow, WordPress, Squarespace, etc.
  • Ability to make skillful decisions related to public relations and communications
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  • Courteous presentation and phone skills are required
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail with the ability to meet daily deadlines
  • Willingness to be featured as a company voice and personality shown amongst our social media presence is desired but not required
  • Education :

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required, preferably in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related fields
