Procurement & Materials Manager (Building Materials Manufacturing)
Are you an experienced procurement leader with a strong background in manufacturing? A leading building materials manufacturer is seeking a Procurement & Materials Manager to oversee purchasing and warehousing operations at their plant and associated terminals.
About the Role:
As a key member of the plant management team, the Procurement & Materials Manager will drive strategic purchasing initiatives, optimize inventory management, and ensure operational efficiency. This individual will play a crucial role in developing procurement strategies, negotiating supplier agreements, and driving cost-effective sourcing while maintaining compliance and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee procurement and warehousing activities for the plant and terminals.
- Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and ethical bidding practices.
- Develop and implement strategic purchasing initiatives and process improvements.
- Drive inventory reduction initiatives and optimize inventory flow.
- Collaborate with Finance to provide cost projections and budgeting insights.
- Support plant operations and align procurement strategies with long-term business goals.
- Oversee contractor insurance requirements and risk management processes.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5 years of experience in procurement and contract management within a manufacturing, production, or construction environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, economic, financial, or business field.
- Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with inventory management and process optimization.
- Proficiency in MS Office; experience with Oracle Cloud is a plus.
- Professional certifications such as CPM, APP, CPP, or APIC are preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, drive initiatives, and influence business strategy.
