Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Architect Project Manager to lead and oversee commercial architectural projects from conception through completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in construction management and design, with proficiency in various architectural software. This role requires excellent leadership abilities, strong communication skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure projects meet client expectations and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead project teams in the design and execution of commercial building projects, including renovations, additions, and tenant fit-ups.
- Conduct site visits to gather measurements and data, requiring the ability to climb ladders and access roofs. A reliable vehicle is necessary.
- Create rough and detailed architectural designs, including floor plans, elevations, and sections, using AutoCAD software.
- Review and incorporate building codes, zoning regulations, and technical documents into designs.
- Prepare schematic designs, construction documents, and specifications for permitting and pricing.
- Collaborate with structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and fire protection engineers, incorporating their designs into construction documents.
- Oversee construction administration, ensuring compliance with design specifications and managing field observations.
- Manage project correspondence, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely and on-budget completion.
- Conduct client meetings, maintain project documentation, and lead small teams through the design process.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial architecture.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with 3D rendering is a plus.
- Familiarity with architectural and construction contracts.
