Job Description
CME Associates is seeking an experienced Construction Management Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities/site construction or roadway and bridge construction management, with experience overseeing inspection teams and managing projects.
Responsibilities
- Overses the observation of construction activities in field on behalf of company to monitor for general compliance with plans and specifications.
- Ability to oversee multiple projects and manage multiple Construction Technicians.
- Assist in mentoring and training other staff members, including monitoring and training to other Construction Technicians and junior engineers.
- Advise Project Managers of perceived deviation from plans and/or good workmanship.
- Apply engineering principles to review plans, calculations, and designs to ensure conformity with standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Inspect work on-site to ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety guidelines.
- Identify and report issues proactively, such as project or schedule delays, poor workmanship, quality or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project progress, materials, activities and RFI/Submittal logs.
- Assist with drafting reports, change orders, and other documentation.
- Work with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction activities and ensure they adhere to safety protocols and engineering requirements.
- Assist in resolving technical challenges, provide input on solutions, and make recommendations based on engineering analysis.
- Ensure compliance with legal, environmental, and safety regulations on-site, following established procedures and guidelines.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and state agencies, ensuring compliance with project requirements.
Qualifications
- A strong understanding of civil/construction engineering principles, modern construction methods, and materials.
- Ability to identify issues early and work toward effective solutions.
- Proficiency in both verbal and written communication for clear reporting and interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to analyze construction drawings, specifications, and site conditions carefully to ensure quality and compliance.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experienced in processing client advertised Construction Management solicitations and assembling teams that meet solicitation-specific criteria.
Experience
- ~15 years experience in Construction Management of large water/waste water facilities preferred.
Education and Certifications
- ~ Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
- ~ Licensed Professional Engineer, (NJ license preferred)
- ~30hr OSHA Construction Safety, or 40hr EM-385-1-1 USACE Safety & Health
