What are the responsibilities and job description for the Internal Audit Internship - Summer 2025 position at CME Group?
CME Group is currently looking for a Global Assurance Audit Summer Intern.
This candidate will assist Global Assurance on day-to-day activities in support of Internal Audits. The candidate will assist with executing internal audits and special reviews to provide assurance regarding the existence and effectiveness of financial, operational, and compliance and technology-related internal controls. The candidate will develop professional skepticism and obtain knowledge of the business to understand processes to identify and assess risk. The candidate will participate in interviews with our business partners and document results of tests. The candidate will present the results of testing with the team to draw conclusions on the overall level of risk within the scope area, the root cause, and potential solutions to reduce the risk.
Principal Accountabilities
Basic experience with Google Workspace applications.
Education
Currently pursuing a BA/BS or Masters/Advanced Degree.
Desired majors include Accounting or Finance.
Other Requirements
Hybrid Schedule - able to come into the CME Group Chicago Office.
Able to work 40 hours per week

Principal Accountabilities
- Create accurate, logical and detailed work-papers clearly describing the work performed, results of testing and conclusions reached.
- Maintain positive and collaborative business relationships with Global Assurance's clients (auditees) to support effective and efficient audit execution.
- Execute audits to assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and verify compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Partner with more senior members of the GA team to provide recommendations to management for strengthening controls and work with management to develop acceptable solutions to mitigate risk.
- Build knowledge of the CME Group's operations, including policies and procedures and any applicable regulatory requirements.
