Founded in 1996, CMES, Inc. is a rapidly growing, privately held Georgia-based civil construction company. We are seeking to add a Traffic Control Supervisor to our team to support our continued rapid growth within the highway construction industry.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Traffic Control Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently managing and coordinating all aspects related to lane closures, flagging operations, and traffic control devices for construction projects. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and efficiency of traffic management on our projects.
Responsibilities:
1. Schedule Coordination:
• Work closely with the Superintendent to schedule lane closures and flagging operations in advance.
• Ensure timely communication and coordination with project teams to facilitate smooth traffic management.
2. Device Management:
• Verify and ensure that projects have the correct traffic control devices for lane closures and flagging operations.
• Lay out the placement of traffic control devices on the project site, adhering to safety standards and project requirements.
3. Inspection:
• Conduct regular inspections of lane closures and flagging operations to verify proper installation and adherence to safety protocols.
4. Inventory Management:
• Maintain an inventory of traffic control devices at the office, including message boards and arrow boards.
• Keep track of quantities and conditions, ensuring an adequate supply for ongoing and upcoming projects.
5. Traffic Shifts:
• Assist in coordinating and implementing traffic shifts on projects, ensuring a smooth transition with minimal disruption.
• Install traffic shift devices, including single or double posts with drivable bases.
6. Sign Installation:
• Install advanced warning signs on projects, following specified guidelines and regulations.
• Install permanent signs on projects, ensuring proper placement and visibility.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in traffic control coordination or a related field.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on precision and accuracy.
• Knowledge of traffic control devices and safety regulations.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Physical ability to install and inspect traffic control devices on project sites.
