About CMFCAA:
The Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association is a not-for-profit agency that educates, supports, and advocates for foster, adoptive, & kinship children, youth, & families in central Missouri by offering services & partnering with community & governmental agencies to develop healthy & self-sufficient individuals & families.
Currently, we are assisting over 640 foster families, over 1400foster children, over 400 adopted children in our service area. Our goal is to be a support to the families, children and youth in this area, and we work tirelessly to provide much needed services to them.
Position Summary: The HR Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, and providing support to employees regarding benefits inquiries. This role also assists with other HR functions as needed, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the HR department. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of employee benefits administration.
Essential Functions/Job Expectations:
Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, disability, and wellness programs.
Oversee the enrollment process for new hires, open enrollment, and life event changes (e.g., marriage, birth, divorce).
Provide clear communication to employees about benefits offerings, changes, and deadlines.
Maintain and update benefits records and files for accuracy.
Liaise with benefits vendors, insurance providers, and third-party administrators to resolve issues or concerns.
Coordinate and manage open enrollment periods, including preparing materials, hosting informational sessions, and assisting employees with their selections.

Qualifications/Credentials:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or a related field is required, or equivalent years of experience in benefits management may be substituted.
Hands on experience with HRIS system (preferred)
Understanding of labor legislation
Reliable Transportation Required
Valid Driver's license
