About CMFCAA:
The Central Missouri Foster Care & Adoption Association is a not-for-profit agency that educates, supports, & advocates for foster, adoptive, & kinship children, youth, & families in central Missouri by offering services & partnering with community & governmental agencies to develop healthy & self-sufficient individuals & families.
Founded in 2007 by a former foster youth, foster parents, and adoptive parents, the CMFCAA is a community service organization that provides for the needs of foster, adoptive, kinship, and guardianship youth and families. What began as a small support group has grown into a multifaceted organization that provides direct support, education, services, and advocacy to foster and adoptive families in a 24-county central Missouri region.
Currently, we are assisting over 640 foster families, over 1400 foster children, over 400 adopted children in our service area. Our goal is to be a support to the families, children, and youth in this area, and we work tirelessly to provide much needed services to them.
Job Summary: The Outreach Specialist will promote awareness of the Missouri foster care system and CMFCAA by educating and empowering the public, as well as building partnerships with local organizations and stakeholders. Through community events, presentations, and other outreach, the Specialist will increase public knowledge and engagement in order to support foster, adoptive, and kinship children, and ultimately drive systemic change to improve the lives of Missouri families.
Responsibilities:
Attend community events such as resource fairs, coalition meetings, networking opportunities, and other public gatherings
Research and pursue opportunities for outreach to a wide variety of locations and demographics
Stay informed on CMFCAA events and services in order to promote program utilization
Build and strengthen relationships with fellow nonprofits, educational and faith-based stakeholders, government entities, civic groups, and individuals
Conduct event follow-up, including inputting contacts and event data into the GiveSmart Platform and processing program referrals
Routinely identify and present to local groups in order to raise awareness of the foster care system
Provide coaching and support to other CMFCAA programs conducting outreach
Serve as a liaison between prospective clients and CMFCAA programs, maintaining contact until program intake has been completed
Provide updates and relay feedback to CMFCAA teams regarding the publics questions, concerns, and interests
Assist with Development activities such as the Backyard BBQ, Legacy of Love Gala, etc.

Associates degree preferred

Qualifications:
Must have a Valid drivers license and be at least 21 Years Old to drive our company vehicles
Must have at least 2-years of customer service experience
Must have a Reliable vehicle in the event that a company vehicle is not available
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Must be comfortable with public speaking and have public speaking skills
Knowledge of foster & adoptive care is preferred
Must have 1-year Computerized data management
Ability to work independentl
