Position Overview
Maintains records of materials in inventory and on order. Monitors reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock. Reconciles discrepancies in inventories and notifies supervisor of irregularities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Duties & Responsibilities
- Processes purchase orders and places orders as required; tracks orders and investigates problems.
- Monitors and maintains current inventory levels. Records purchases, maintains inventory database, performs physical count of inventory, and reconciles actual stock count to computer-generated reports. Monitors inventory reorder points and initiates action to replenish stock.
- Receives, unpacks, and delivers goods; re-stocks items as necessary; labels shelves.
- Processes and documents returns as required following established procedures.
- Performs routine duties, including data entry, answering telephones and taking messages, and assisting the Regional Maintenance Supervisor as needed.
- Will be responsible for training Maintenance Site Supervisors on how to purchase parts, complete shop inventories, etc.
- Cross training with the Maintenance Data Specialist to perform other job duties.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Ability to work extended hours during summer months.
- Spot checks of site inventory shops
- Cross training with Maintenance Data Specialist to learn their job duties and assignments in order to help with seasonal work load.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years’ experience in inventory control and purchasing.

- Detail oriented
- Proficient with computers including typing, email, and data entry
Conditions of Employment
- Possession of a valid Virginia driver’s license is a requirement for this job
- Must pass criminal background check
Job Type: Full-time, Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm, with overtime as needed. Some Saturdays during the Summer.
