What are the responsibilities and job description for the 24-10526 Labor Relations Specialist GA/HR position at CMHA Candidate Experience Site?
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager (HR Manager), serves as the Human Resources (HR) department specialist responsible for assisting the department in labor relations’ matters pertaining to the administration of all collective bargaining agreements and employer relations rules. Provides consultation and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements. Assists with contract negotiations and negotiating letters of understanding. Researches, analyzes and responds to labor relations issues through verbal and written communication with the Union. Responsibilities, include but are not limited to layoff, bumping and recall, grievances, and contract language changes. Assists with employment investigations. Additional responsibilities include tracking compliance of multiple HR functions, job descriptions and personnel record audits. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the department in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
Requirements: Possession of a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor and Industrial Relations or related field required. A minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources or a closely related field required. Must have demonstrated leadership, public speaking, and verbal and written communication skills.
Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.

Salary/Hours: Salary commensurate with education and experience. 40 hours per week. Flexible hybrid schedule with 3 or more days in office, including evening meetings.
