Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Charter House Coordinator, operates a van, picking up program participants and delivering them to the program site and returning them to their homes upon completion of daily activity. Takes participants to special activities at the direction of the Coordinator. When not providing transportation during a shift, the driver will work on one of Charter House’s units providing services to its members. This position will be responsible for coordinating transportation routes with the relief van drivers. This position will be responsible for coordinating vehicle maintenance with CMH’s Vehicle Fleet Maintenance Specialist. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.
Requirements: Possession of a High School diploma or G.E.D. is required. A minimum of three months’ work experience with driving responsibilities is required. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both in writing and verbally is required. Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and access to reliable means of transportation for job-related use is required.
Conditional Employment Requirements: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a Michigan State Police clearance check and verification of an acceptable Michigan driving record. Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Salary/Hours: $16.04 - $17.52 per hour. Monday - Friday, 7am - 11am & 2pm - 6pm. Some weekends and holidays required.
