What are the responsibilities and job description for the 25-1321 Mental Health Therapist - FF position at CMHA Candidate Experience Site?
Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Supervisor of the Eaton County Counseling Center, serves as a master’s level professional clinician performing a wide range of direct and indirect mental health services. Serves as a mental health therapist, assessing children and families, developing treatment plans, using person centered planning principles, providing counseling/psychotherapy, as well as conducting psychoeducational and skill building groups. Services will be provided in office and at the Eaton County Youth Facility, but occasional community outreach may be necessary. This position will make recommendations regarding referrals to other agencies and/or community providers when appropriate. Work hours are variable and may include evenings.
Requirements: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology or related field is required. Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential is required, LMSW preferred or will be acquiring one within 60 days of hiring. One year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience with children and families required. Candidate must be able to work well with others and function independently when interacting with other programs/agencies within the community. Ability to communicate accurately and effectively both verbally and in writing required. Must have reliable transportation for job related use and a valid Michigan driver's license.
Conditional Employment Requirement: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, verification of an acceptable driving record, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history. Salary/Hours: $56,005 - $63,570 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $73,502. 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM with likely possibility of evening work hours on a case by case basis.
