Job Description
Job Summary
The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic repairs machinery or mechanical equipment at CMI’s customer site in Quantico, VA. This is a 3 month temporary position covering for an employee on leave.
Key Job Functions
- Manages individual work reception, planning, and completion, reporting back to the Facilities Manager as necessary
- Repair or replace parts as needed to maintain buildings, equipment, and furnishings in all aspects of facility maintenance. This includes being able to work with various types of materials : woods, plastics, paints, glass, sheet metals, PVC products, greases, oils, etc.
- Have knowledge of and be able to work from drawings, schematics, models, blueprints, and / or by verbal instructions for completing task assigned.
- Determine required materials and supplies relating to preventive maintenance, repair orders, and projects to complete each task.
- Utilize proper safety equipment and be willing to work in environments with dust, dirt, sharp objects, fumes, etc.
- Have knowledge of and utilize hand tools, small power tools and man lift equipment to complete task.
- Properly maintain, clean, and care for tools and equipment as well as maintaining a clean work area.
- Perform duties from elevated equipment to include ladders (step or extension), telescoping or scissor lifts, scaffolding and platforms.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on building equipment / furnishings in accordance with the manufacturer’s operation manuals.
- Complete documentation on work projects to include material requests, work orders, etc.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to, removing, relocating, and / or installing building furnishings (i.e. pictures, towel dispensers, shelving, etc.) in order to complete task.
- Move and arrange heavy office furniture, equipment or supplies as needed.
- Conducts comprehensive tours of conference facilities
- May oversee and support services of sub-contactors
- May assist other service departments as needed
- Assist in any other related functions under the direction of the Facilities Manager
