Service Mechanical Technician

OVERVIEW:

CMI is a premier manufacturer of asphalt plant equipment and parts. Our manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Service Mechanical Technician to enhance the productivity of our organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Travel (domestic and Canada) to customer’s site
• Represent CMI in a professional manner
• Ability to fill out expense & daily reports
• Ability to direct cranes and other subcontractors on job sites
• Must obey safety procedures issued by CMI & the customers job sight
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment
• Cut and Weld mild steel in a variety of thicknesses
• Understand blueprints and engineering diagrams for parts and jobsite layouts
• Capable of working with minimal supervision and instruction once trained.
• Ability to erect/ disassemble new and used equipment (asphalt plants)
• Use good mechanical judgements
• Troubleshooting to diagnose faults in machines and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude
• Read blueprints and diagrams to solve issue and assemble equipment
• Knowledge of industry safety practices
• Knowledge of specific welding processes
• Ability to use heavy machinery, such as forklifts and cranes
• Ability to lift 40 pounds.
• Experience with welding large, fabricated structures is a Plus.
• Precise and Detail oriented work with a high level of quality
• Technical aptitude with mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Enjoy problem solving and analytical thinking
• Skills in using heavy and power tools
• Valid driver’s license / Passport with the ability to travel to Canada.

Qualifying candidates will be required to take blueprint, math, and welding assessments.

A successful applicant would be able to use the listed skills to fabricate large and small metal parts and weldments. This includes part layout from prints, measuring, cutting, grinding, fitting, and welding metals to create the desired shape or object. As well as the willingness and ability to be cross trained in other areas as needed. This is highly detailed work and requires the Welder /Fabricator to be knowledgeable of many techniques and tools.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
