Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery in a construction environment. This role involves working on construction sites to install foundation solutions. TRAVEL REQUIRED; usually will start at the shop and travel to the site on average of 1-2 hours away. Potential hotel stay if needed, all expenses covered.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment; most often an excavator, but also a skid steer and a grout plant
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Collaborate with team members to execute construction tasks and build projects according to specifications.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery on-site.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues as they arise and report any major concerns to the supervisor.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation of an excavator is required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team setting.
- Valid driver's license required
- OSHA 10 preferred; will arrange online course if needed
- Drug Test may be required depending on project requirements
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
