CMK is searching for a Network Engineer to support our client and their customer near Tacoma, Washington. We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer with strong working knowledge of Cisco SDA and Cisco ISE to join our client’s team. This role involves designing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise network infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in Cisco networking technologies, along with experience working in regulated enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain enterprise networking hardware and software.
- Monitor and manage firewalls, VPN services, and security appliances to safeguard business-critical systems.
- Optimize complex switching and routing environments, ensuring secure access and seamless voice and video services.
- Collaborate with information security teams to enhance and enforce network security measures.
- Work with engineering teams to drive automation and improve network architecture.
- Implement automated solutions for network event mitigation and remediation.
- Troubleshoot network incidents using logical problem-solving and diagnostic tools.
- Support disaster recovery planning and execution.
- Provide technical support to operational teams, ensuring quick issue resolution and knowledge sharing.
- Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Networking, Telecommunications, or a related field (or four additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Network Engineer supporting enterprise networks or large data centers.
- Deep understanding of Layer 2 (LACP, 802.1x) and Layer 3 (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) networking protocols.
- Strong background in firewall management, packet inspection, and network security.
- Experience with scripting or programming for network automation.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and alerting tools.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification required.
- Security or CISSP certification preferred.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco Software-Defined Access (SDA) and Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE).
- Experience with F5, wireless networking, and Palo Alto firewalls is a plus.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated environment (e.g., MICS, PCI compliance).
- Strong technical documentation and procedural writing skills.
