Summary :

The Sr. Product Line Manager specializes in the product lifecycle and continuous improvement development. The position is responsible for designing strategic goals, driving the product to success and ensuring profitability.

Product line managers have full ownership and control over their product line portfolio. They oversee production from the initial prototype stage through manufacturing and phase out.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for meeting product line functional performance, addressing all product quality issues, internal action requests and external customer engineering change notices.
  • Act as a technical liaison between CMP and the customer.
  • Act as a technical resource to a variety of internal or external groups such as Program Managers, Business Development, and quality.
  • Function as a team leader when engaging technical staff, which includes assigning project tasks, following up on deliverables and ensuring adherence to overall project schedule.
  • Drive development of productivity improvement initiatives within their product lines.
  • Assure productivity improvement plan is adhered to and take steps to mitigate risks related to execution and timelines.
  • Ensure quality standards are adhered to throughout the production process.
  • Lead cross-functional productivity and process improvement teams.
  • Ensure product lines maximize use of existing CMP technologies and methodologies while also customizing processes to meet customer needs.
  • Monitor the long-term profitability of the product line.
  • Demonstrate advanced or expert level engineering knowledge as it relates to product manufacturability.
  • Ability to be a technical resource for other PLMs in the group.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant technical degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a related field.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work with people in a group environment and customer-oriented.
  • Excellent organizational, project management and communication skills.
  • Willing and able to work flexible and extra hours when required to meet deadlines.
  • Willing and able to travel to visit customers when required.
  • Knowledge and experience with CNC Machining, Sheet Metal, Welding, Finishing, and Assembly a plus.
  • Continuous Improvement mindset in all aspects of work habits; GD&T preferred.
  • Superb engineering drawing reading and interpretation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of Lean tools.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and learn new things.
  • Reliability and integrity, dedication to task.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Physical Demands and Work Environment :

    This position will work in a manufacturing setting with exposure to heavy equipment, machinery, and related noise levels.

    Position will be primarily working in a sitting position for up to (6) plus hours per day. On occasions will be required to move throughout the facility. Must be capable of lifting 0-50lbs in the proper ergonomic position.
