Global Logistics Specialist
CMP Global INC is a World Class manufacturer and distributor in the Marine industry. The Global Logistics Specialist is responsible for providing logistical support for the company, suppliers and customers.
DESCRIPTION :
Our Global Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and tracking worldwide shipments from their starting points to final destinations in the most efficient and cost-effective ways possible. This person must stay up to date with developments in their field ensuring that they keep track of customs regulations and route services of other shipping companies. They must leverage strong analytical skills and extensive knowledge of company policy as it relates to importing / exporting rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : :
Day to day handling of ocean and air export / import operations and customs clearance operationsUpdate the International Shipment Tracker daily according to the work instructionsUtilize Microsoft Sharepoint for document storage and shipment identificationDemonstrate proficiency with and understanding of compliance requirements and appropriate regulations in the United States, Canada, Australia and ItalyCoordinate with the Italian and Australian purchasers to organize imports from China and other international suppliersCommunication with clients, overseas partners, suppliers, shipping companies, brokers, etc.Utilize the written work instructions for procedures to ensure ISO 9001 compliance for international logisticsUse discretion and personal judgment to ship goods by employing the most efficient and cost-effective route to reduce cost on each shipment.Train various internal departments on how to reach / utilize the International Shipment Tracker for updatesUtilize the Bookings Request function in CMP Worldwide on Teams to book shipments based on Supply Chain’s informationParticipate in each of the North American production calls to update facilities about inbound shipmentsPrepare Commercial Invoices, packlists, and other documentation as requiredCommunicate any delays on shipments with the intended recipientComplete Door to Door tracking of containers, LCLs, and Air FreightProvide tracking information to internal teams when neededSupport special projects when needed as assigned by the management teamCUSTOMS AND DUTY DRAWBACK PROGRAM
Review and maintain surety bonds for the import of goods into Canada and the USAAdminister the CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management client portal (CARM)Delegate authority to fellow employees and third-party service providers on the CARM portalRespond to all inquiries regarding the CARM portal from internal and external contactsReporting CARM activity to finance for cashflow planningAdminister duty drawback programs for both the CBSA and USCBP thus optimizing the recovery of duties paid on re-exported goodsComplete and organize import and export spreadsheets for the United States Duty Drawback ProgramManage the United States Harmonized Tariff Schedule classification project for the Duty Drawback ProgramComplete Customs documentation for Inner Branch Transfers between the North American facilitiesAnswer customs clearance questions from brokers in a timely and efficient mannerVENDOR MANAGEMENT
Negotiate rates and make decisions pertaining to shipping vendorsPerform audit review of international logistics processes with the management team when necessaryManage engaging vendors and suppliersAssist Accounting with discrepancies regarding freight invoicesREQUIREMENTS :
2 years of experience in customs and duty drawback program2 years of experience in vendor management2 years of experience in handling of ocean and air export / import operations and customs clearance operations2 years of experience communicating with clients, overseas partners, suppliers, shipping companies, brokers, etc.2 years of experience in preparing commercial Invoices and packlists2 years of experience in administering the CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management client portal (CARM)2 years of experience in tracking developments and changes in laws related to logistics, customs regulations and route services of other shipping companiesWorking knowledge Microsoft office and computer programsBachelor’s degree or equivalent experienceComfortable lifting up to 25 lbs.Follow all Standard Operating Procedures and safety / security guidance.Flexibility in work schedule to accommodate customer demands; possess a can-do attitude and ability to prioritize in a changing work environment.Comfortable performing complete repetitive functions including walking, bending, reaching, stooping, twisting and liftingComfortable working overtime as requiredHOURS :
