What are the responsibilities and job description for the Baseball Coach position at CMS/CHS?
Evans County High School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Baseball Coach to
assist in leading and developing our baseball program. The ideal candidate will have a strong
background in baseball, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for mentoring student-
athletes both on and off the field. The coach will be responsible for overseeing all
aspects of the baseball program, including skill development, game strategy, team
management, and fostering a positive and competitive team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching & Player Development
? Assist in the design and implement effective practice sessions to develop players'
skills, teamwork, and game strategy.
? Provide individualized coaching to enhance player performance and growth.
? Instill sportsmanship, discipline, and a strong work ethic in student-athletes.
? Foster a competitive and positive team environment.
Game & Season Management
? Develop game strategies, lineups, and play execution plans.
? Assisting in leading the team during games, including making in-game
adjustments.
? Analyze team performance and adjust training plans accordingly.
? Coordinate team logistics, including scheduling, transportation, and game
preparation.
Program Administration
? Communicate with school administration, parents, and players regarding team
policies, schedules, and expectations.
? Ensure compliance with school, league, and state athletic association policies.
? Maintain inventory of equipment and uniforms, coordinating with the athletic
department as needed.
? Organize fundraising efforts and team events to support the program.
Student-Athlete Mentorship
? Promote academic achievement and personal growth among student-athletes.
? Provide guidance on college recruitment opportunities for players interested in
playing at the next level.
? Serve as a positive role model, emphasizing integrity, teamwork, and
responsibility.
Qualifications:
? Previous coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level
preferred.
? Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, strategy, and training techniques.
? Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
? Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
? CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
? Ability to pass background check and meet all school/district coaching
requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
? Prior playing experience at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
? Teaching or mentorship experience in a school or athletic setting.
? Experience in player development and strength training programs.
Work Schedule & Compensation:
? Seasonal position, with practices and games occurring after school hours, on
weekends, and during the postseason. This job can be tied to a full-time
teaching position as well.
